TECHNOLOGY LESSON PLANS

Four Days in Paris When reading this lesson plan, all I could think was ... "SWEET, I wish I taught this subject!" Not only that, but I was thinking how cool this project would have been to do when I was a student. In this foreign language or social studies lesson, students work individually or in small groups to research a travel destination, set-up a four day itinerary, and then use a program such as Shutterfly or Photo Story to create and illustrate a travel journal. What a fun way to learn ... OR DREAM!

Understanding Space Travel I chose this lesson plan as it is more closely related to my content. In this lesson, students will use inquiry and creativity to think about space in the future. Students will need to reseach and study the moon, mars, and orbit of Earth and design a city based on their unique conditions and environments. I really like the idea of splitting the class into large teams- I think that makes for a health competition and engaging/movtivating atmosphere. I think this lesson could be more technolgy based by explaining more in detail the goals of the final project outcome. If I were to do this project, I would have students create a video or ad of some sort to "sell" their city. Some program ideas would be WeVideo, PowToon, and GoAnimate.

Hurricanes in History in this lesson, students work with pairs or groups to research and interpret multiple graphs of historic Hurricane data. They will answer questions to show their understandings of the data and then using the interpretations create a presentation with their predictions of future Hurricanes.
